DIVIDED DETROIT*

"Divided Detroit" is a piece I co-authored and designed my senior year of high school. The story itself covers the gentrification of Detroit, highlighting my hometown's complicity. Inspired by gestaltan's "Newspaper Design," I made this piece my own by incorporating photos juxtaposing the festivities of Downtown with the "No trespassing" sign found on the outskirts of the city. This design was awarded 3rd place in the Feature Spread category by the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association (MIPA) in April 2022. I was subsequently named an All-State Student Journalist on the News Design team.
